Biography
Hello, Cal State LA community!
My name is Jazmine Rocha, and I am honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Vice President for University Affairs. I am excited to represent the student body and work alongside everyone to help Cal State LA continue moving forward.
I am a junior majoring in Political Science with a minor in Law and Society. I also serve as the 2026–2027 President of the Political Science Association, am a proud member of Delta Phi Epsilon, and serve as Vice President of Administration for the Panhellenic Council. Being involved on campus has brought me a strong sense of purpose and community, and I hope to show students that, with the right support and opportunities, everyone can find a meaningful way to get involved.
As Vice President for University Affairs, my goal is to help students feel informed, supported, and included in the decisions that affect their education and campus experience. Students are the foundation of every university, and their voices should always be heard, respected, and represented. I am committed to connecting students with academic, professional, social, and personal support, and much more while helping them better understand how they can participate in shared governance.
One of my main priorities this year is increasing transparency and strengthening student representation. I aim to maintain at least 95% capacity in at-large student positions on university-wide and ASI committees so students feel they have and do have a voice in important campus decisions. I also plan to provide weekly updates through our new Substack platform to keep students informed about developments within ASI and the University. Most importantly, I will continue to speak up for student success through advocacy, public statements, support letters, and direct communication with University leadership.
I look forward to listening to your ideas and learning your concerns. Please feel welcome to reach out at any time. Whether you have a question, need support, want to get involved, or simply want a friend. I am excited to serve you and help make Cal State LA a more connected and student-centered community.
